Bona Law's Pat Pascarella and Steve Cernak Named to The Best Lawyers in America® 2027

Bona Law is pleased to announce that two of its partners, Pat Pascarella and Steve Cernak, have been recognized in antitrust law in the 2027 edition of The Best Lawyers in America®, marking the seventh consecutive year that Bona Law lawyers have been recognized by Best Lawyers. 

Best Lawyers selects lawyers through a peer-review process in which lawyers are nominated and evaluated by other leading practitioners in the same practice area and geographic market. 

The 2027 edition drew on 3.8 million evaluations from more than 32,000 voting lawyers, and Best Lawyers has called it the most selective edition in the award's history. Recognition is limited to roughly the top 5 percent of practicing attorneys nationwide.

Pat Pascarella, brings a combination of government, in-house, and Big-Law  practice experience that is unusual among antitrust specialists. He was chief antitrust counsel at AT&T for over a decade, served with the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division, and chaired the antitrust practice at a major law firm. His matters have included the U.S. Supreme Court cases Bell Atlantic Corp. v. Twombly and Pacific Bell Telephone Co. v. linkLine Communications, Inc., as well as Untied States v. Microsoft. His clients have included AT&T, América Móvil, Ericsson, and News Corp. 

Steve Cernak, a partner in Bona Law's Detroit office, was recognized in antitrust law for the eighth consecutive year; Best Lawyers has honored him annually since 2020. Cernak spent more than twenty years as in-house antitrust counsel at General Motors, where he ran the company's global antitrust function across merger review, litigation, and compliance, and he later chaired the American Bar Association's Antitrust Law Section. His practice today centers on merger review and HSR filings, global antitrust compliance programs, pricing and franchising arrangements, and joint ventures, serving clients across the automotive, manufacturing, technology, and franchising industries.
